India managed to maintain their hopes alive for the World Cup title with an exciting 7-run win over England within the second semi-final of the ICC Males’s T20 World Cup 2026 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Sanju Samson stepped up when it mattered most, scoring 89 to arrange India’s win within the essential knockout conflict. ‘Let’s go Group India!’

Many Bollywood celebrities have been on the Wankhede Stadium to look at the match dwell. Amongst them have been Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Triptii Dimri and Anil Kapoor. Raha was seen clapping together with Ranbir and Alia, and a number of other movies of the three having fun with the sport surfaced on X.

Varun and Anil have been seen getting up from their seats and clapping for staff India after the ultimate innings, and even waved the tricolour because the staff triumphed. “Finale unlocked! Let’s go Group India,” Anil wrote on his Instagram Tales. In the meantime, Triptii wrote, “Goosebumps watching this staff.”

‘Group India performed like absolute champs’

Akshay Kumar took to his X account and wrote, “That’s the way you march in the direction of the finals 🇮🇳🏏 What a win, Group India!” Ajay Devgn wrote, “Liked each minute of this match! #TeamIndia performed like absolute champs. On to the finals now 🇮🇳.”

In the meantime, Preity Zinta wrote on X, “Congratulations to the lads in blue. What a sport and what a dominant efficiency by Group India 🇮🇳 What an exciting entry into the ultimate of the T20WC 2026. It was a pleasure to look at unimaginable performances from Sanju Samson, Hardik Pandya, Jaspreet Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh & Akshar Patel. Tonight was all about Fearless batting, lethal bowling & tight fielding ! A Massive shout out to Jacob Bethel for his dynamic batting. Yeahhhh !!!! I used to be below the climate and a bit sick – not feeling too properly however by some means I’ve forgotten all of it.”

Concerning the match

India completed with a record-breaking complete of 253/7, the best ever within the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup, with Hardik Pandya and Tilak Varma ending the innings with a flourish after Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube laid the groundwork with imperial knocks. In the meantime, Sanju Samson, who received participant of the match once more, mentioned Jasprit Bumrah deserves the award.

India can be defending its T20 World Cup title at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, March 8.
